נשות השכונה מוזמנות לשמח בלימוד תורה ובהצגה המסורתית של אלגרה ורננה, השנה ברוח “לולי תורתך שעשועי”. ההצגה הקצרה תתקיים בגן שליד בית הכנסת מצפה רמות, בזמן ההקפות של ערב שמחת תורה, היחל מההקפה הרביעית.
כבר כמעט 20 שנה אנחנו מציגות את סיפורן של שתי נשים שחיו בימי בית המקדש השני והמשנה. ההצגות מחייות את החיים היום יומיים בימי המשנה, ודרכן אנו מגלים שהבעיות והאתגרים, השגרה וימי השמחה שלהן דומים לשלנו. בואו ונכיר את רננה ואלגרה והעולם שלהן( ונלמוד קצת משנה בדרך). נחזק את הקשר שלנו לתורה ולהסטוריה שלנו בארצינו ,ונשמח שמחה עדינה המתאימה לחג הזה בשנה הזאת.

Neighborhood women are invited to a short play that celebrates the Torah and our joy in having Torah be part of our lives. The play will take place on Simchat Torah evening, beginning at the fourth hakafa, in the Gan next to the Mitzpe Ramot Shul.
This play brings to life two women who live at the time of the Second Bet Mikdash and the beginnings of the Mishna. Through the details of their lives, we can see that their challenges and troubles, their routines and moments of joy, are not so different from ours. For the last 20 years we’ve presented different episodes in their lives and learned a little Mishna along the way. Come to celebrate the Torah in a gentle, joyful way, as is appropriate for this holiday, this year.
ביום שלישי בערב השבוע, ליל הושענה רבה (22 באוקטובר), הצטרפו לרב ג’פרי סאקס בדיון על סיפורי הסוכות של ש י עגנון ולאחר הכן הקרנת הסרט “האושפיזין“ המבוסס על סיפורים אלה.
חתן פרס נובל, ש.י. עגנון, אסף הרבה מקורות רבניים קלאסיים, וסיפורים יהודיים וחסידיים ידועים, ארג אותם יחד והפך אותם לסיפורים קצרים רבי עוצמה לקראת חג הסוכות. הצטרפו לג’פרי סאקס כשהוא דן בסיפורים ובמקורותיהם, וכיצד הם השפיעו בתורם על סופרים עבריים אחרים ועל התרבות הישראלית העכשווית.
לאחר הדיון המרתק, נצפה בסרט “האושפיזין” של שולי רנד (עברית, עם כתוביות באנגלית) המבוסס על סיפורי ש י עגנון.
הרב ג’פרי סאקס הוא מנהל מייסד של ATID – האקדמיה ליוזמות וכיוונים תורניים בחינוך היהודי, בירושלים, ותוכנית ה-WebYeshiva.org שלה. הוא עורך העלון “Tradition”, עורך הסדרה של ספריית ש י עגנון בהוצאת טובי ומנהל מחקר בבית עגנון בירושלים. הרב סאקס פרסם בהרחבה על מחשבת ישראל, חינוך וספרות. הוא חבר סגל במדרשת עמודים ומלמד קורס על ש.י. עגנון בקרן תקווה0.
This Tuesday night, Leil Hoshana Raba (22 October), join Rabbi Jeffrey Saks in a discussion of S Y Agnon’s Sukkot stories, followed by a screening of “Ushpizin” based on these tales.
Nobel laureate, S.Y. Agnon, drew on a wealth of classical rabbinic sources, and existing Jewish and hasidic folktales, weaving them together and transforming them into a number of powerful short stories for the Sukkot holiday. Join Jeffrey Saks as he discusses these tales and their origins, and how they in turn have influenced other Hebrew authors and contemporary Israeli culture.
After the fascinating discussion , we will watch Shuli Rand’s Ushpizin (Hebrew, with English subtitles) based on the S Y Agnon stories.
Rabbi Jeffrey Saks is the founding director of ATID – The Academy for Torah Initiatives and Directions in Jewish Education, in Jerusalem, and its WebYeshiva.org program. He is the Editor of the journal Tradition, Series Editor of The S.Y. Agnon Library at The Toby Press, and Director of Research at the Agnon House in Jerusalem. Rabbi Saks has published widely on Jewish thought, education, and literature. He is also a faculty member at Midreshet Amudim and teaches a course on S.Y. Agnon at the Tikvah Fund

The community Simchat Torah tefilla will start at 8am at Mitzpe Ramot, followed by community hakafot, Torah reading and musaf under the musaf under the theme of “Unity”.
Hakafot at the shul will start in the evening around 6:30pm; hakafot in the morning will start around 9:00am.
There are currently no sponsors for the traditional rolling kiddush during the leining. If you would like to help us defray the costs, please speak to Ruth or David.
