There will be no minyan in Gan Geffen this Shabbat (evening and morning). Those who daven in the 9:15 minyan are invited to join the 9:00 in the main shul, where Yair Altura will be leining

These are unprecedented times. Concerns have been raised about the security preparedness of the Shul. The Va’ad of Mitzpe Ramot has undertaken a study with an established security company to determine the needs of the Shul and how to tighten up our security for the safety of all of our members and guests. Some initial information will be procedures and protocols planning, training, and purchase of hardware to implement the plan. Early estimates are beyond the scope of our annual budget. We are turning to our members and friends to help us with the financial requirements of the security planning. Let us continue to pray for the safe return of all soldiers and hostages and the speedy and complete recovery of all injured.
“מצוות עשה מן התורה לזעוק ולהריע בחצוצרות על כל צרה שתבוא על הציבור” (רמב”ם, הלכות תעניות) “ציבור, כל זמן שעושים תשובה וצועקין בלב שלם הם נענין” (רמב”ם, הלכות תשובה).
נראה שאנו נכנסים לשלב חדש של קרבות עזים בעזה. כמו כן, לצערנו יש לנו עדיין חטופים שם.
הבה נעשה מאמץ ונתכנס כל ערב לאמירת תהילים ב 20:15 בבית הכנסת.
ה’ ישמור צאתם ובואם מעתה ועד עולם
“It is a positive Torah commandment to cry out and to sound trumpets in the event of any ‘Tzarah’ that arises which affects the community” (Rambam, Hilchot Taaniyot) “Tzibur, whenever they do Teshuva and cry out wholeheartedly, they are answered immediately ” (Rambam, Hilchot Teshuva).
It seems we are reaching a new stage of more intensive battles in Gaza, and not all our hostages have been returned home to us.
We will once again be gathering nightly to say Tehillim at 8:15 pm in the shul.

הרב קנאי לא בשכונה השבת, לכן לא יהיה שיעור אחרי מנחה. בליל שבת, שלמה סימקין יעביר דברי תורה, ובשבת בבוקר אחיקם כהן-הוד יעביר דברי תורה.
Rav Kannai is away for Shabbat, and so there will not be a Shabbat afternoon shiur this week. Shlomo Simkin will deliver divrei Torah on Friday night, and on Shabbat morning, Achikam Cohen-Hod will deliver divrei Torah.
