בשבת בבוקר אחרי המניין ב-9:00, סנדי והאוורד לובודה תורמים קידושא רבה לחנוכת הפרגולה-בודה. הפרגולה משמש ברכה גדולה לבית הכנסת שלנו, שבה חגגנו כבר, ובע”ה נמשיך לחגוג בה לשנים הבאים עלינו לטובה.
On Shabbat morning, following the 9:00 minyan, Sandy and Howard Loboda are sponsoring a kiddush to dedicate the Pergola-boda, which has been a huge bracha to our shul already: we have celebrated much in it, and look forward to continuing to do so for years to come.

Due to renovations in the gan building, there will be no minyan in the gan this week, Shabbat Chanuka.
The early minyan will start at 6:50 instead of its usual 7:00.

This Friday morning (27 December), we continue the Chanuka festivities with Rav Noam Koeningsberg‘s musical Hallel at 8am, followed by an out-of-this-world balloon show and breakfast. Breakfast by registration only; registration for the breakfast is now closed.

This Shabbat afternoon, Rav Kannai will continue his Shabbat afternoon series of shiurim between Mincha and Maariv. This week’s shiur will discuss the topic of “Giving areas of Eretz Yisrael as part of a peace treaty”

We once again have a full Shabbat morning kids program, from 8am, with cocoa club learning, Tefilla in shul, park time with babysitters, and groups.
Kol Hanearim will take place at 6pm this Motzei Shabbat.

On 25 January, Mitzpe Ramot will be hosting a screening of 93Queen, sponsored by Vivian and Moshe Spierer on the occasion of the 20th yahrtzeits of their mothers. This movie tells the story of the founding of the first female EMT organization in New York, Ezras Nashim, and will be followed by a presentation and discussion by Gitty Beer, founder of the Women’s Division of United Hatzalah of Israel, which is not affiliated with Hatzalah of the US. Ezras Nashim, as portrayed in the film, is a controversial subject to this day. We invite you to see the film and learn the facts.

“בעלה של רונית, ג’וזף, סבל לאחרונה משבץ מוחי ואין לו ביטוח רפואי לכיסוי עלויות בית חולים ושיקום
הרבה פעמים אנחנו שומעים על אסונות של אחרים, שמבקשים מאיתנו לתרום עבורם. הפעם זה קרוב משפחה שלי וזה הסיפור שלה: בריאות ממלכתי. מרגיש כל-כך מובן מאליו שאנחנו אפילו לא חושבים על זה, עד שאסון נופל ואין. מדינת ישראל החליטה להטיל ספק בנישואים של ג׳וזף, שעלה מקניה והשתרש בארץ לפני מעל עשור, עם רונית בחירת לבו. החודשים עברו ועדיין אין החלטה ובינתיים פג תוקף הויזה של ג’וזף – איתה פקע גם ביטוח הבריאות הממלכתי. נפל הגורל וג׳וזף מאושפז היום באיכילוב לאחר אירוע מוחי וניתוחים מרובים, משתדל לחייך אך עומד בפני תהליך שיקומי ארוך והמשפחה נאלצת לגייס תרומות למימון ההוצאות. כל שקל עוזר.

The following has happened to granddaughter and grandson-in-law of our dear member Bella Harpaz:
“Ronit’s husband, Joseph, recently suffered a stroke and does not have medical insurance to cover hospital and rehabilitation costs.
We often hear tales of woe from strangers, with requests for donations. This time it’s my relative and this is her story: Socialised medicine. Taken for granted, to the extent that we don’t even think about it until disaster falls, and there is none to fall back on. The State of Israel decided to question Joseph’s marriage. Joseph made Aliya from Kenya over a decade ago, with his soulmate, Ronit. Months passed and still no decision has been made.Meanwhile, Joseph’s visa has expired, and with it his national health insurance. Fate threw a cruel blow, and Joseph has been hospitalized in Ichilov following a stroke and several surgeries. He is trying to keep his spirits up, but is facing a lengthy rehabilitation process, a heavy expense which his family must fund, and they have no option other than to raise donations . Every shekel helps.
